Snowdon

Downhill all the way from here An impressive display of time-perfect driving takes us to Wales and the foothills of Snowdon. It rains. Hard.

A start time of 1.23pm gives us four hours and a minute before our 24 hours will be up. Is it enough?

With gritted teeth and aching limbs, we climb ever upwards. We reach the top with over two hours left. No sign of Nige-the-Director meeting us. Even the restaurant he is supping a cup of tea in can't be seen in the cloud!
A quick photo and then on (and on) down the hill. An urgent patter of feet near the bottom heralds the arrival of Nige, who has run down to catch us up!

At 4.47pm on Saturday afternoon, we cross the finishing line. Only the beer challenge remains .....

.... no problem!
